Recent Advances in Catalysis by Gold

The purpose of the symposium is to provide a forum for the discussion
of recent advances in catalysis by gold. Mechanistic details will be
presented with a two-fold intent: 1) correlating catalyst structure with reactivity and selectivity; and 2) offering a foundation for the rational design and synthesis of future catalysts.

20th Canadian Symposium on Catalysis

The Canadian Symposium on Catalysis is held biannually. Canadian andinternational researchers from all areas of catalysis are equallywelcome to attend. The object of the meeting is to showcase the recentachievements, promote the exchange of ideas and stimulate newdevelopments in all fields of catalysis. The Twentieth CanadianSymposium will also focus on encouraging the exchange of knowledgebetween researchers from heterogeneous and homogeneous catalysis. Thecommon theme will be how catalysis can address issues of air quality andgreenhouse gas emissions through improved efficiency and selectivity.Papers from all areas of catalysis research are invited.

Topical areasthat have been chosen for additional focus include:
- Fuel Cell Catalysis
- Transition Metal Catalysis
- Catalysis for Biomass Utilisation
- Computational Modelling of Catalytic Processes
- Catalysis for Cleaner Energy
- Catalysis for Green Chemistry

6th World Congress on Oxidation Catalysis - 6WCOC

Towards an integrated approach in innovation and development

In the line of the successful series of WCOC's (Italy 1989, Spain 1993, USA 1997, Germany 2001, Japan 2005), the congress is intended to offer an update of recent innovation in fundamental and applied aspects. The 6WCOC will be focussed on highlighting progress, new developments and new directions in oxidation.

The organization of the 6WCOC will be ensured jointly between the "Laboratory of Catalysis and Solid State Chemistry - UCCS" (UST Lille/CNRS/ECL/ENSCL - France) and the "Laboratory of Catalysis and Divided Materials Chemistry - CATA" (Université catholique de Louvain - Belgium).
